I thought that they deserved better than this. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"\"\u003eOld diamonds are so rare to find these days since everyone seem to prefer these over contemporary brilliant cut diamonds. I think that both are wonderful in each their right but old ones have that very distinct one of a kind look to them. Unlike modern machine-cut stones, old cut diamonds were shaped entirely by hand, usually between the 1700s and early 1900s, when diamond cutting was more art than science. Every facet was placed by eye and candlelight, designed to shimmer softly in the warm glow of gas lamps and candlelit salons.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp class=\"\"\u003eThere are a few different types of old cuts—most notably the Old Mine Cut and the Old European Cut.
