Rare Color Changing Vintage Sapphire Ring 18K Gold
Warning: This stone has two colors, and I can only show you one of them.
So this is a complex thing to explain but I will give it a try. This is a very rare lab created sapphire that looks exactly like a color chaning alexandrite.
A stone like this is according to GIA extremely rare to come by.
Even though the stone was created in a lab itโs still 100 % natural sapphire (or corundum as the mineral is called).
And it changes color so that itโs blue/teal in daylight and purple in artificial light - and on camera!!! I never use artificial lights in my pics but somehow the stone still wanted to show herself as purple on the pics. I tried my IPhone as well, no luck.
I actually prefer the blue color, and since that purple is amazing that says a lot about the blue!!! Trust me on this one ๐๐
The sapphire measures 10x10 mm.
The stone is set in a beautiful 18K solid gold setting with the most beautiful shoulders. It was made by the Swedish goldsmith Vidar Hertov.
The band is 2 mm wide.
Currently a size 6.5 and can be resized within reason by your local jeweler.
Excellent condition with minor traces of wear. Stone intact.
