OMJ FINE JEWELRY : Cotton Candy Charms All Natural Untreated Sapphire Diamond and Tourmaline 18K Gold
I'm incredibly proud to introduce you to the COTTON CANDY CHARMS, part of my very first OMJ Fine Jewelry collection!
These charms feature two standout elements: the exquisite stones and the meticulously crafted setting.
The setting: Designed by me, I spent countless hours sketching, refining, and perfecting this unique design. I wanted to give it an old-world feel, so I chose prongs positioned at the North, East, South, and West points, with tapered ends that fold over significantly—just like they did in the 1800s. My goal was to allow the stones to shine brilliantly from every angle by maximizing the light exposure. The setting is shallow, sitting snugly against the chest, and the bale is generously sized at 4.5-5mm, ensuring it fits comfortably on most chains.
Now, onto the stones. These gems are from my personal collection, which I’ve spent over a decade carefully curating from across the globe. As a gemstone enthusiast, I often take them out just to marvel at their beauty. There's something magical about holding one of nature's little masterpieces, many of which I’ve sought out for months in places like India, Pakistan, Australia, Sri Lanka and Thailand—renowned for their precious gemstones.
I have a particular love for sapphires and diamonds, especially antique diamonds and pastel sapphires. The three sapphires in this piece—two blue and one pink—are each extraordinary. The oval blue sapphire is a rare and coveted cornflower blue, known for its stunning color and value. The square sapphire is equally special, with a gradient that transitions from pale to mid-blue, creating an incredible play of light. And the pink sapphire, which I found in Pakistan, was truly love at first sight—it’s even more breathtaking in person.
Lately, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for tourmalines, and this is the first of several pieces featuring this gemstone. Tourmalines are mesmerizing, with their remarkable sparkle and dreamy colors, and they offer a more affordable alternative to sapphires. This particular green tourmaline has a vibrant hue that looks incredible against the skin.
Those who’ve been following me for a while know I have an enduring love for old cut diamonds (OLDMINE Jewelry, anyone?). The one I’ve used in this collection is truly exceptional—an antique, hand-cut gem. Each old cut diamond is one-of-a-kind, with no two exactly alike. I’m captivated by their uniqueness and the soft, understated sparkle they offer, which, to me, is even more enchanting than a modern brilliant cut.
For me, jewelry craftsmanship must be flawless. Each piece in my collection is designed to be an heirloom, masterfully handcrafted to last generations. Every detail is considered to ensure that the pieces are not only beautiful but also durable.
I hope you’ll love all of these as much as I do!
