Small Antique Blood Stone Seal Fob Pendant 1880s
This is just VERY beautiful, very rare sized antique seal fob w a bloodstone seal that is blank, so you can have something engraved in there yourself. Maybe initials or your motto?
The bloodstone seal measures 13x12mm and has a beautiful green hue with the classic deep blood red spots.
In the ancient world, Bloodstone (Heliotrope) was considered to be the most beautiful of the Jasper variants, a deep, earthy green gem emboldened with spots of bright red. Called the Sun Stone, and later Christ’s Stone, its energy carries the purity of blood and inherently speaks of life and birth, vitality and strength, passion and courage. As a talisman, it is both mystical and magical, and its virtues are protective and nurturing.
AND it’s the March birthstone alongside aquamarine.
The fob is made in 14K solid gold and weighs 7 grams. You can use him as a pendant - and he looks amazing both on a regular chain or in a large bolt clasp of the kind you find on antique watch chains.
The fob measures 31x13 mm making him the perfect pendant. Not too big, not too small and certainly not too heavy to carry around the neck, even though he has good weight to him.
The fob has very intricate engravings all over and the craftmanship is just so immaculate and beautiful. This one has taking hours and hours for the goldsmith to complete.
The pendant dates to the last half of the 1800s Sweden.
