These old watch chains are getting more and more rare - and almost impossible to find in higher carat gold like this one in 18K solid gold! The color of the 18K gold on this one is especially beautiful, like butter with a soft warm glow to it!
The chain was made in Sweden and has a whole hallmark party going on. No less than four links are beautifully hallmarked!!! The hallmarks tell us that the chain dates to 1927.
When you first look at the chain you might think that the links are curb links. But they are not. They are an early form of virola links making this one even more special.
He’s in incredible condition for being this old. No kinks. Only light surface wear. The clasp and clip is working smoothly.
The chain measures 10.6 inches and you can either use it as a chain extender, together with another watch chain for a full length look or you can shorten him and turn him into a bracelet. The choice is yours!!
He’s weighs a great 15 grams. The virola links are 4 mm wide. The loop clasp measures 11 mm in diameter and the dog clip is 20 mm long.
