Long Poetic Vintage Chain from Uno A Erre 18K Gold
New in! This 40.2 inches looong beauty of a an 18K gold chain from Italian Uno A Erre will be released today on the website at 5 pm NY time (GMT-4).
This fancy link chain is just pure poetry. A gorg mix of paper clip links and a little round, twisted loop links that catches the light beautifully.
The piece was handmade by Uno A Erre in Italy.
The history of the famous jeweler house Uno A Erre started in March 1926 with Carlo Zucchi and Leopoldo Gori (picture), the two “founding fathers” of the first jewelry manufacturing company of Arezzo. They started making beautiful jewelry that quickly got the whole country and later the world's attention.
On the 2nd April 1934, the founders received the first registered trademark of the gold industry, 1AR, which in turn evolved into the name of the company: Uno A Erre.
This chain bears the marks “1 AR” and “Una AR.” The design of these marks has evolved over the years, and these particular ones are dating to the 1970/80s.
Today, after over 90 years, Uno A Erre has achieved world leadership and established its first-class reputation for quality and reliability and is one of my favorite Italian designers.
The necklace is 40.2 inches long (!!) and wraps around your neck two times. The loops are 4-5mm wide, 5-11 wide, the paper clips are 14x3mm.
The chain is made in 18k solid gold and weighs 17 grams. She has no clasp and comes easily on over the head.
She is marked for gold carat and maker, and the condition is excellent with minor age-related wear. All colored parts are just reflections from the surroundings. The backside of the necklace looks exactly like the front side.
I must admit that I wore too much hand lotion when shooting this one so that you will see some marks on especially the clip links. This is not damage and so. Just my fingerprints.
