I’m so happy to offer this fantastic, Swedish 27.4 inches Belcher rolo chain, or “ärtlänk” (meaning pea link) as they call it in Sweden, for sale. She is a total dream chain for layering.
The belcher link style is an old style. The first chain was done in Britain back in the 18th century. It was named after the Bare Knuckle Boxer Jem Belcher (pictured), the English Champion from 1800 to 1805.
The Belcher chain is made from a D-shaped wire and is cut and carefully shaped into individual round or oval links, which are then interlocked together.
This one is a beautiful example. She’s made in solid 18K gold in the most beautiful warm, radiant color, and her links are just like delicious little peas.
The chain weighs 21 grams and has marks for the carat. The links are 2.5mm wide and beautifully crafted.
