Extraordinary 1.92 ct Art Deco Diamond Ring Platinum 1930s
How often can you say that you know the entire history of a 90 year old ring?
Rarely but this time I can!
This beauty was made by a local jeweler in Copenhagen in the 1930s.
The jeweler got robbed and during the robbing he was hit in the head and never really recovered fully.
The store was too much for him to handle so he closed it not long after, and kept some of his best pieces.
When he died, his daughter Birthe inherited his pieces, and this ring was amongst the pieces she got.
Birthe is very old now but still alive. She has actually never worn the ring.
Last year she sold all of her inherited pieces to my jeweler, and he basically just put them away again. Until I came by for a coffee and a chat and he brought it out and showed it to me.
And that is really the story of this ring. A favorite piece kept in a box for 90 years!
The diamond has a larger (and beeeeautiful) table than you will find in brilliant cuts nowadays and is just a super stunner and one of a kind diamond. The larger table (8 mm) means that she has a larger diameter than a modern brilliant cut her size.
She has a slight light yellow tint (has been certificed as light yellow but I think she is lighter and less yellow than that) and VVS2. Comes with certificate from certified gemologist.
I personally prefer diamonds with a little color making then much more unique and interesting to watch. This particular one is so dreamy, feminine and almost pastel like hue.
The price is including resizing, polishing and shipping.
If you are in Europe please contact me prior to buying.
