These terms apply to every order placed with Oldmine. Please read them before you buy. If anything is unclear, ask - it is easier to answer a question than to fix a misunderstanding after a piece has shipped.
1 · Who we are
Oldmine sells antique and vintage jewelry, shipped worldwide from Denmark. In these terms, "we", "us" and "Oldmine" mean Oldmine; "you" means the person placing the order.

2 · The pieces we sell
2.1 Everything is second hand
Every piece is antique or vintage. It has been worn before, often for a very long time. "Excellent condition" for a hundred-year-old ring does not mean the same thing as it does for a piece made last week, and we describe condition on that basis. Normal age-related wear should be expected unless a listing says otherwise.
2.2 Photographs are part of the description
Please look at the photographs as carefully as you read the words. They are part of how a piece is described, and they show wear, marks and colour more honestly than a sentence can.
2.3 Measurements and weights
All measurements and weights are approximate and can vary.
2.4 Gemstones
All fine gemstones are tested and assessed by a certified gemologist, and our descriptions are based on that assessment.
Pieces do not come with certificates or laboratory reports unless a listing specifically says so. If you would like an official gemological report, we can arrange one for an additional fee. Please ask before you buy, not after.
2.5 Ask before you buy
If you would like more photographs, more detail about condition, or clarification of anything at all, contact us before purchasing. We would much rather send you five more photographs than have a piece travel to you and back.
2.6 Every piece is one of a kind
Pieces sell out fast. I try my best to restock daily, so please bear with me - each piece is handpicked with care, and since they are all one of a kind, the selection moves only as fast as I can.
2.7 Prices
All prices are in USD. The price that applies to your order is the price shown at the time you check out. If your card is issued in another currency, your bank sets the exchange rate and may add its own fee.
3 · Shipping and delivery
3.1 How we ship
Worldwide UPS Express from Denmark, typically 1 to 4 working days in transit. Orders are dispatched within 1 to 3 working days, and tracking information is emailed to you.
3.2 Customs, duties and taxes
Orders under 800 USD are no longer exempt from customs taxes. To keep delivery smooth and avoid parcels being held, all orders - both under and above 800 USD - ship with customs duties and taxes pre-paid.
3.3 When we are not responsible for a package
Oldmine is not responsible for a lost or undelivered package where:
- the shipping details you provided were incorrect;
- you did not contact us within 30 days of purchase to say the package had not arrived;
- delivery failed because the address was invalid; or
- the package was refused or left uncollected.

4 · Cancelling an order
An order may be cancelled within 1 hour of checkout, so that the package has not already gone out. Message @oldmine_jewelry to cancel.
A cancelled order is refunded minus a 10% restocking fee.
5 · Returns and refunds
5.1 Returns, not exchanges
Oldmine does not offer exchanges. We do accept returns for a refund, on the conditions below.
5.2 How to return a piece
- Contact Oldmine within 24 hours of receiving the item, to receive the return address.
- Return the item within 2 working days.
- Ship with UPS Express only. Other couriers are not accepted.
- Fully insure the package. Oldmine is not responsible for loss or damage in transit on a return.
- Mark the customs forms as "returned goods / return".
5.3 What is deducted from a refund
Because duties and taxes are pre-paid on the way out, a refund is issued minus:
- the pre-paid duty, being 30% of the total;
- the shipping fee of 55 USD, also where shipping was included in the price;
- the standard 10% relisting fee; and
- any taxes incurred on the return itself, if the package was not marked properly as returned goods.
5.4 Pieces that cannot be returned
- Custom or personalised orders
- Resized or altered items
- Items from the OMJ Fine Jewelry Collection
- Items bought on sale
- Items purchased through layaway or a payment plan
- Any order where you have previously cancelled or returned items

6 · Layaway
Layaway is offered through Partial.ly.
The first instalment is due immediately at checkout and is a non-refundable down payment. All layaway sales are final.
Payments are due according to the agreed schedule. A payment counts as missed if it has not been received within 5 days of its due date.
If a plan is cancelled, or a payment remains missed for more than 5 days, the plan is closed and a shop gift code is issued for the amount paid, minus the down payment and minus the 10% relisting fee.
Pieces remain the property of Oldmine until a layaway plan is paid in full, and are shipped only once the final payment has been received.
7 · Privacy
Oldmine is committed to protecting your privacy.
What we collect. Only what is needed to fulfil your order: your name, shipping address, and contact details.
What we use it for. Processing and dispatching your order, and contacting you about it.
Who we share it with. Our shipping carrier and payment provider, only so far as they need it to deliver your parcel and take your payment. Your data is never sold, and never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
How long we keep it. As long as we need it for the order, and for the bookkeeping we are legally required to retain.
Your rights. You may ask us what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where we are not required to keep it. Write to hi@oldmineshop.com.

8 · Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version published here at the time you place your order is the version that applies to that order.
